Downs League
Sunday 7th March 2010
Holland Sports AC had two overall winners after the final race of the Epsom Downs League.
In the U11 race, Natasha Kelly needed to be the first girl home to make certain of victory, and she showed that she was back to her best by doing just that. Keeping her rivals in sight at the start she then eased away up the long hill to finish in 6th place but take the overall first prize. Tom Knight ran superbly, finishing 4th in the race and showing good strength in the windy conditions. Tom and Natasha ensured that Holland Sports finished the season 9th in the team event.
In the U13 race, James Rady and Liam Miles finished 4th and 8th respectively in their race which meant that they finished 2nd and 3rd in the overall standings and helped the team to 4th place over the season.
In the U15 race, William Rady kept clear of his rivals and although he finished second on the day he had done enough to gain overall victory in his event. Holland Sports finished runners up in the U15 team competition.

In the U13 boys' race Liam Miles had a terrific run, finishing in 26th out of 66 with James Rady finishing in 42nd place. In the U13 girls' race, Isla Anderson ran her usual gutsy race in finishing 52nd but illness earlier in the week had clearly sapped her strength. In the U15 boys' race William Rady finished 29th out of 42.
In the senior women's championship, a 5 mile race over two laps of an undulating and muddy course, Maggie Statham was the sole Holland representative, finishing in 27th place out of 68 in a time of 37:24
