Final Men's Track & Field Fixture - Sutton Arena
18 August 2007

In the final match at Sutton Holland finished in 4th position, and in the final league table the club finished in 4th position out of 14 - a good result, well done.  Click here for the full results.

In this fixture an unfortunate calf injury to Darren Piper meant he could only compete in one race. Dave Batten stepped into the breech but left himself with a mountain to climb by starting 50 metres behind everyone in the 5,000 metres.

Well done to Mark Andrews with his PBin the triple and also for him competing in the most events in the season for us – 51!

Freddie Wardlaw performed well particularly in 4 x 400 relay having just finished the steeplechase!

Thanks again to everyone who competed for Holland this season and to those who leant their support in other ways.

Brave Performances for Holland Juniors in the NYAL
Horsham, 24 June

It was great to have a good number of Moorhouse school pupils competing for the club in the National Young Athletes' League fixture at Horsham on 24 June. They are all asterisked in the attached listing of the results from the event. And the club topped 100 points (103 actually) for the first time in years. Congratulations to William Rady for achieving a personal best and national grade 4 in the U13 800 metres. And to David Uren for bravely completing the 80m hurdles after falling.

Father Bob finished some way behind speedy son Paul, who finished in 2:16. For a photo of Paul in action, click here.

Men Win First Track & Field Fixture of the Season!

Great result from the first Men's fixture at Battersea Park on 5th May – we won! This despite not having a "b" performer in 110 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles & Pole Vault.

Everyone played their part. Special mention to Mark Andrews who after his 13 events said "I do not feel tired" – if I had known that I could have got him to do the steeplechase instead of a very wet Graham Pullen! On being asked to do the 5000 metres, Graham said to me why do not you do it, and my response was: because I am the team captain. Well done Graham – well done also to the 4 x 400 relay team on their superb victory.
